Our Neighborhoods,
Their Pollution,
Your Health

Amtrak, federal agencies, and private developers are pushing a multi-hundred-million-dollar heavy maintenance facility straight through the core of our community.

Amtrak and federal agencies are using a Categorical Exclusion—a federal legal loophole— to bypass assessing the environmental impact and fast-track the inactive Canal Street Yard into a 24/7 heavy industrial hub.

They expected families in Bridgeport, Chinatown, and Armour Square to sit quietly while they rewrite the future of our neighborhoods.

They were wrong.

The Latest: Community Town Hall

Thank you to the 200+ participants who attended the Community Town Hall on Wednesday, September 2nd at Pui Tak Center and online. We learned more about the Legislative and Executive guidance enabling this project, the environmental and health effects of diesel exhaust from train locomotives, and updates from elected representatives about the status and support for the project.

Information and status updates will be added here soon.
